In early 2017, Royal Animal Refuge was founded as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in response to the growing need to save adoptable animals placed on the urgent list at the county shelter as well as adoptable pets with extreme medical emergencies, strays and owner surrenders. The refuge is not just for animals… it is for all people who are dedicated to our mission! Our goal is to promote animal welfare and responsible pet ownership, find homes for unwanted pets, provide humane care for all animals in our care, educate the community about the problems of unwanted, neglected, and abused animals and help people keep their animals through spay and neuter, vet care and other help as needed. In our first 18 months, Royal Animal Refuge processed over 1,000 pet adoption applications, but the need continues to grow.
Our goal is to work with the community, area shelters and local rescue groups by developing a network of supporters and volunteers to create a better world for homeless animals.
